Sacramento County Launches New Social Media Channels for Mental Health Promotion and Stigma Reduction Program
The Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services/Division of Behavioral Health Services (DHHS/DBHS) launched three new social media channels in support of the “Mental Illness: It’s not always what you think” project, which officially launched on Jan. 21. The channels will be used to promote mental health resources and news within Sacramento County.

The “Mental Illness: It’s not always what you think” project will focus on:
· Dispelling myths and stereotypes about mental illness
· Promoting positive beliefs and attitude about living with mental illness, hope and recovery
· Promoting messages of wellness, hope and recovery
RESOURCES: County representatives are available to speak to the mental health resources that are available within the county and general mental illness facts, as well as the goals of this project.
