Professional, caring staff is available five days per week to answer questions about a multitude of
senior issues including health care, housing, social programs and legal services.
CAREGIVER RESOURCE GUIDE
The Caregiver Resource Guide is an extensive directory of resources in the greater Sacramento area,
which also includes definitions of commonly used terms, information on levels of care, and
guidance in determining associated costs. The guide is available online and in print.
UPDATE NEWSLETTER
The Update newsletter covers a wide range of topics important to older adults, including health and
wellness, lifestyle, and caregiving. The Update also provides a list of upcoming classes.
EDUCATION PROGRAMS
The Senior Connection sponsors educational classes for older adults and caregivers on subjects
ranging from fall prevention and dementia diagnosis to advice on better sleep and nutrition.
ASK THE ATTORNEY SERVICES
Seniors and their families can meet with an attorney specializing in elder law issues during a FREE
consultation of up to 45 minutes.
ASK THE CARE MANAGER SERVICES
Seniors and their families can meet with a nationally certified geriatric care manager during a FREE
consultation of up to 30 minutes to help them understand the services, resources and options to
consider when making the best decision for everyone involved.
LLC – TALKING, LISTENING & CARING
For over 40 years, the TLC program has provided telephone reassurance calls and friendly home
visits for older adults in the greater Sacramento area. This service provides social interaction and a
connection to community resources.
Telephone Reassurance
Seven days a week, TLC’s volunteers place calls to hundreds of older adults who live alone, wish to remain independent in their own homes and appreciate a daily check on their well-being.
Home Visiting
Ranging from two to four times each month, volunteers pay visits to older adults living
alone. Volunteers will assist with correspondence, enjoy a common interest, reminisce
and possibly provide transportation to appointments.
