Counseling Center offers individual and group counseling to abusers, victims and children. Emphasizes stopping the violence. A.L.I.V.E., a 32-week class for abusers, is scheduled periodically. Both group counseling for women and A.L.I.V.E. require attendance at three drop-in groups and an intake appointment before acceptance into an on-going group or class; in addition, women may receive individual counseling sessions. Also offers community education focused on prevention of domestic violence, graduate student intern training and supervision and free attorney consultation for domestic violence matters. Offers counseling to children traumatized by witnessing domestic violence. Prevention and awareness activities are offered at designated elementary, middle and high schools within the county.
