SERVICES FOR HOMELESS FAMILIES

OPTIONS FOR RECOVERY RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT
This 3 to 4-month residential substance abuse treatment program is designed to help women suffering from alcohol and other drug addictions who are pregnant or have children younger than age five.  (916) 929-1951

OPTIONS FOR RECOVERY TRANSITIONAL LIVING
This 6 to 12 month, semi-independent, clean and sober living program facilitates the success of those who have completed the Options for Recovery Residential Treatment Program.  (916) 929-8038

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR FAMILIES
This innovative program keeps families together during the recovery process. The program can accommodate couples with children and single parents. For six months to a year while they work on treatment, living skills, and locating permanent housing. (916) 922-9335

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR WOMEN & CHILDREN

COMMUNITY OUTREACH SERVICES
This outreach and referral program serves elderly/adults (60+) with mental health issues. It provides access to the Guest House Clinic for psychiatric services, medications, housing and entitlement assistance. It identifies persons in community shelters that are in need of psychiatric services and provides connection to services. (916) 736-6727

HALCYON PLACE SHELTER PLUS CARE
Our long-term residential program provides housing, outreach, transportation, intensive on-site support, and life skills training for homeless disabled single adults whose disability may be mental illness, chemical dependency, or AIDS.(916) 736-6727

PROJECT OUTREACH
Project Outreach is a collaborative effort between Volunteers of America and several community organizations to assist individuals with mental illness living on the streets. SUBSTANCE ABUSE OUTREACH
This is an innovative program that seeks solutions to homelessness by providing substance abuse assessment, referral, and therapy. These services are offered on-site at emergency shelters throughout Sacramento to ensure that homeless individuals who are most in need have access. (916) 874-4351

WOMEN IN JAIL TREATMENT PROGRAM
This drug and alcohol treatment program is specially designed for women incarcerated at Sacramento's Rio Consumnes Correctional Center. The goal of the program is to break the cycle of addiction so that when they are released they can become better parents and more productive members of society.

COMPREHENSIVE ALCOHOLISM TREATMENT CENTER
This Center is Sacramento's comprehensive program for treating and counseling the public inebriate. Components of the program include an 80 bed facility allocated to holding the client for up to 72 hours for evaluation and treatment.

RESIDENCE PROGRAM
The Residence Program provides services for homeless individuals including 120 days of food & shelter, access to a clothing closet, job training, independent living-skills preparation, assistance in rehabilitation and location of permanent housing.(916) 443-4688

INDEPENDENT LIVING READINESS PROGRAM
This is a model in transitional housing for homeless single adults focusing on independent living skills. Intensive case management services, 24-hour supervision, and substance abuse treatment options provide preparation for the transition from homelessness to independent living. (916) 442-0877

MATHER COMMUNITY CAMPUS
This innovative program, located on the former site of Mather Air Force Base, is a collaborative effort between Volunteers of America and other public and private community donors. OPEN ARMS
A collaborative program with other partners in the AIDS provider community, this emergency housing facility can house 12 individuals. Residents receive life-skills training and substance abuse education. Assessment and referral to permanent housing is also provided. (916) 442-0877

"A" STREET SHELTER FOR MEN
This 90-120 day Aid-in-kind shelter provides food, shelter, and referral services for up to 80 homeless men. 20 of the beds at this program are used as emergency overflow beds. (916) 448-5507

Volunteers of America is proud to operate a 138-unit, HUD-assisted, multi-family complex in Sacramento. It provides safe, affordable housing for lower-income families. Greenbriar Apartments is located in Sacramento. (916) 488-0171
